3K/5K Fun Run for Literacy

The Rotary Club of Salinas Valley is thrilled to invite runners and walkers alike to participate in our upcoming 3K and 5K Run on October 25, 2026. This community-driven event aims to foster a sense of unity among families, residents, and local businesses while promoting healthy lifestyles through physical activity.
The race takes place in the picturesque Salinas Valley, where participants will enjoy scenic routes that showcase the area's natural beauty. The event is not only about crossing the finish line but also about supporting literacy programs within our community. Proceeds from this run directly fund books, tutoring resources, and educational support for children and families who need it most.
The day begins at 7:15 AM with check-in opening to allow ample time for participants to register and settle in before the event kicks off. At 7:45 AM, runners can join a warm-up session led by members of the Lettuce Run Club to prepare their bodies for the run ahead.
The 3K race starts promptly at 8:00 AM, followed closely by the 5K starting time at 8:30 AM. Both distances offer an opportunity to explore Salinas Valley's serene landscapes and vibrant community spirit. Participants are encouraged to arrive early to make use of the warm-up session and take part in the celebratory atmosphere that precedes the start.
Once the races conclude, a post-run celebration awaits all participants at 9:30 AM. This event offers refreshments, music, and an opportunity for runners to socialize with fellow competitors and volunteers alike. The day wraps up at 10:00 AM with closing remarks and acknowledgements from local leaders.
