44th Annual Lake Wyola Road Race

"Probably the best road race under five miles I have ever seen." — John Stifler, running columnist, Daily Hampshire Gazette. The 44th annual Lake Wyola Road Race returns to Shutesbury, Massachusetts, on Sunday, June 14, 2026. The main event: a 4.8 mile road race and walk that starts at the Lake Wyola Association Hall on Shore Drive. The course runs counter‑clockwise around the lake — first half paved with a challenging uphill climb, second half dirt roads (mostly downhill) with a flat finish. Also a 1.5 mile fun run/walk for all ages.

Course Details:

• Tree‑canopied country roads around Lake Wyola.
• 4.8 mile loop: paved start, then dirt/gravel for the second half.
• Fun run: starts/ends on pavement, about 1 mile on dirt/gravel.

Post‑Race & Family Day:

• Free post‑race refreshments for all runners and walkers.
• Bring the family — Lake Wyola State Park has a beautiful beach and picnic area.

T‑shirts:

• Guaranteed for pre‑registered runners/walkers who register before May 28, 2026.
• Extra shirts distributed on race day, first‑come first‑served.

Awards:

• 4.8 mile race — cash awards to men's and women's open winners. Merchandise awards to top 3 male/female in each age bracket.
• 4.8 mile walk — awards to top 3 male/female finishers.
• Fun run/walk — awards only for participants under 16 years old.
• Raffle of additional prizes after awards ceremony.
