Sponsored by Blackhorse Pub and Brewery
Presented by Terra Running Company and Mash & Hops
Cleveland's 4th annual Beer Mile on First Street will run from the Mash & Hops to Ocoee St., turn around and head back to Church Street. There will be four laps, adding up to a mile. At the beginning of each lap, runners will consume a 12oz can of beer from Blackhorse Pub and Brewery. Runners cannot start their lap until all beer from the can is consumed entirely in the designated drinking area in front of Mash & Hops. A total of four beers will be consumed. Registration will be capped at 70 participants. Awards will be given to the fastest runners as well as the fastest chuggers. The Beer Mile is proudly organized by a collaboration among Terra Running Co, Mash & Hops, and Blackhorse Pub and Brewery.
Packet pickup begins at 9am on Saturday, August 8 at Mash & Hops. In-person registration is available until the race fills up. You will be required to show a form of ID to ensure that you are 21 or older.
Registration cost is $32 until June 30 and $37 from July 1 until race day.
Never ran a beer mile before? Here are some tips…
*Don’t eat too much within an hour of the race and, be sure to hydrate well the day before and day of the race.
* If you haven’t ran a beer mile before there is chance you may not be able to finish all your beers in the run. No worries, containers will be set near beer stations if for any reason you try and finish the race to quickly and your stomach betrays you.
* You are free to run at your own pace, but the Beer Mile is a race and beer stations will stop serving beer after a reasonable amount of time for runners to complete the race.

Learn more about the host city, Cleveland.
Cleveland is the county seat of Bradley County, Tennessee. As of 2020, the population was 45,902. Just like in other areas of the South, Native Americans such as the Cherokees were forced to cede their tribal homelands and move west in what was termed "The Trail Of Tears", in which many died. Cleveland was an exhibition in all this in that not only was it the site of the diminishing Cherokee's council at a place called Charleston and then Red Clay nearby, but it also was where federal troops imprisoned tribal members in stockades for forced removal by the time the crafty Treaty of New Echota passed in 1835. These things are represented at the Museum Center At Five Points and Red Clay State Park.
