4th Annual #OptOutside Black Friday Fun Run

About the Event

Step outside the mall on Black Friday to embrace nature alongside friends and family, creating lasting memories along the picturesque C&D Canal. This unique run/walk offers participants an opportunity to connect with their community while enjoying the scenic beauty of the canal.
The race is a collaborative effort between Plastic Free Delaware (formerly known as Zero Waste First State) and local runners, aiming to promote sustainability by reducing single-use plastic waste in our communities and waterways. The event encourages everyone to adopt eco-friendly practices that emphasize reduce, repair, and reuse, contributing to a circular economy where resources are used responsibly.
Participants can expect an enjoyable experience with the backdrop of the C&D Canal’s serene surroundings. As you run or walk along this historic route, take in the stunning views while supporting a cause that benefits both people and planet. The event also features eco-friendly swag and awards for all participants who join in celebrating sustainability on Black Friday.
The race promises not just physical activity but an opportunity to engage with like-minded individuals and contribute positively to environmental conservation efforts.
