Arctic 5k

The Arctic 5K Trail Race, now in its 14th year, invites runners to embrace the winter spirit on February 6, 2027, at Hydaway Outdoor Center. As part of the Liberty Mountain Trail Series' fourth race, this event offers a challenging course that weaves through single-track trails and forest roads, promising an exhilarating experience for all participants.
The race starts promptly at 9 A.M., providing runners with a unique blend of icy terrain and rugged natural beauty. With temperatures likely to be chilly but invigorating, the Arctic 5K Trail Race is designed to test endurance in a scenic winter setting. Participants can pick up their packets on February 5th from Noon to 6 P.M. at LaHaye Rotunda or on race day between 8 and 8:45 A.M.
A featured t-shirt will be guaranteed for those who register by January 28, with additional shirts available on a first-come, first-served basis during packet pickup. The event boasts an impressive awards ceremony recognizing the top three male and female overall winners as well as age group champions across various categories. Masters division accolades are also awarded to the top male and female runners over 40 years of age.
In addition to individual race achievements, participants who complete all five races in the Liberty Mountain Trail Series will receive special finisher awards at an event in April 2027. To encourage community engagement, a referral program offers registrants $20 back for every three successful referrals they make using their unique code.
