Join us for the 50th edition of the Süderelbe Half Marathon through Alte Land in 2026! This prestigious race offers participants three distances to choose from: the half marathon, a 10km run, and a family-friendly 5km walk. For younger athletes aged between 7-14 years old, there's also a fun 1.2 km kids' dash. All finishers will receive an official medal celebrating this landmark event, with personalized certificates available upon request at the registration terminal. The courses are officially measured and timed using chip technology embedded in your race number, ensuring accurate results for best times lists and qualification standards. The main half marathon route winds through picturesque Alte Land, a region known for its lush orchards, vineyards, and historic villages. This year's event promises to be extra special with commemorative medals marking the 50th anniversary of this beloved race. Race day registration will take place on-site at the start area where you'll receive your numbered bibs. Personalized numbers are available until October 28th for those who register early, while later registrants can still secure a neutral number without their first name printed. Online entry forms remain open until November 5th (18:00) and provide an easy way to reserve your spot at this historic event. Should unforeseen circumstances such as severe weather or public health concerns arise, the organizers reserve the right to alter race conditions or cancel proceedings entirely with no refund for registration fees. We look forward to welcoming you on November 8th and wish all competitors a healthy training period leading up to the big day! About Hamburg
Learn more about the host city, Hamburg.
The Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg is Germany's second-largest city and, at the same time, one of Germany's 16 federal states or Bundesländer. Prior to the formation of the modern German state, Hamburg for centuries enjoyed a status as de facto independent city state and regional power and trade hub in the North Sea. Although situated over 100 km (62 mi) upriver from the North Sea on the Elbe, Hamburg has been one of Europe's most important ports for centuries, as reflected in its full name referencing the Hanseatic League. The city was built on the confluence of the Elbe with a smaller tributary, and much of the southern bank of the Elbe is today occupied by an enormous seaport.
