We're excited to be back in Brighton again, after last year's amazing weather and brilliant entry numbers!
In the early morning of Friday 10th July, hundreds of participants will take to the streets of Brighton whilst the city is still asleep. The unique 5.3km course will start from New Road, pass through the Lanes, along the seafront and back for a glorious finish through the Royal Pavillion Gardens.
At the end of the event, participants will enjoy a healthy breakfast with local seasonal fruits after being given their 2026 medal.
A BIT OF HISTORY
5.30 was created by designer Sergio Bezzanti and nutritionist Sabrina Severi in Modena, Italy in 2009. The idea was to promote a healthy lifestyle through regular physical activity and eating well.
The 5.3k walk/run happens at 5.30 in the morning of a business day in the city centre. Run 5.30 is an event that encourages positive emotions and aims at improving the quality of life of its participants by:
- Increasing their awareness of the benefits of exercising and eating healthy foods
- Showing that an earlier start of the day allows to fit in exercise without impacting the working day
- Allowing to experience the city in a brand new (early morning) light
- Making exercise fun and interactive with a really positive group of people encouraging each other
BUT... WHY AT 5.30 IN THE MORNING?
WHAT DO I RECEIVE WITH THE ENTRY?
CHARITY PARTNER
5.30 Brighton will donate £1 for each entry to Sussex-based children's charity Rockinghorse.
5.30 MERCHANDISE
Once again, we are producing a limited number of 5.30 t shirts in a technical fabric, which some people may prefer to cotton. These are available to purchase upon entry and will be collected with your cotton tee. Wearing either option on the morning will act as your entry ticket!

5.30 T Shirt Collection will be from Jubilee Library in Brighton City Centre, from 10am until 7pm Thursday 9th July. If you have bought merchandise you will collect this at the same time.
The event will start promptly at 5:30am from New Road.
Please dress appropriately for the weather forecast, and we do advise carrying your own water if you need refreshment before or during a 5km distance.
You will need to be wearing this year's t shirt (cotton or technical) to be given your medal and breakfast so please do ensure you collect it and wear it on the morning.
