5K on the Greenway

Immerse yourself in the historic charm of Mayberry for the Reeves Community Foundation's 21st Annual 5K on the Greenway, scheduled for October 3, 2026. This beloved race invites runners and walkers to explore the scenic Granite City Greenway while enjoying the picturesque backdrop of Lovill’s Creek.
The event kicks off at Riverside Park with a course that ventures into the newest section of the greenway, winding through lush landscapes before returning via the SouthData parking lot. Whether you're an avid runner or simply looking for a fun morning out, this 5K offers something memorable for all participants. The race also includes a family-friendly half-mile Fun Run/Walk designed especially for younger racers.
All finishers will receive a custom-designed medal to commemorate their achievement, and those who register early by September 20th are guaranteed a long-sleeve performance shirt at no extra cost. Race fees range from $33 for adult early registrants to $48 on race day, with discounts available for youth participants under the age of 18.
The event schedule features an awards ceremony following the races where prizes will be awarded based on overall and age-group standings in both male and female categories. Additionally, teams can compete in the Fitness Challenge by registering a minimum of five members who collectively achieve the fastest average time to earn recognition for their efforts.
For those interested in team competition or individual accolades, there's an opportunity to join existing groups or create new ones during registration. Early packet pickup is available at Mount Airy Parks & Recreation/Reeves Community Center on October 2nd from noon until 8 PM, and race-day options are also provided starting at Riverside Park.
Participants can enjoy post-race amenities such as showers and dressing rooms located conveniently near the intersection of Pine Street (Hwy 89) and Renfro Street (Business 52).
