5th Annual Bikes and Beaches Time Trial

Welcome to the Coastal Speed Challenge! Set along the picturesque Mississippi coast, this 10-mile time trial promises an exhilarating experience for cyclists of all skill levels. The race will commence from the top of Henderson Point Bridge and conclude at Long Beach Harbor Pavilion, offering stunning views of the Gulf waters.
Race Day Schedule:
- Check-in opens at 6:00 AM
- Last check-in by 6:30 AM; latecomers may not be accommodated
Participants must pre-register to ensure a spot. The event director is Melissa Lorance, who has meticulously planned every detail for your convenience and safety.
Race Course:
The route follows Highway 90, providing a flat and fast path along the beachfront. Coastal winds will challenge racers as they navigate from Henderson Point Bridge to Long Beach Harbor Pavilion, offering breathtaking scenery throughout.
Classification & Awards:
- Open: Suitable for time trial bikes or standard road bikes. Aero bars, disc wheels, and aerodynamic helmets are allowed.
- Eddie Merckx: Limited to traditional road bikes only; no aero equipment permitted.
- Athena / Clydesdale: Divided into weight-based categories—Athena (155 lbs and above) and Clydesdale (220 lbs and above).
- Recumbent: All recumbent bicycle or tricycle designs are welcome.
Post-Race Celebrations:
Upon crossing the finish line, enjoy a complimentary breakfast and participate in an award ceremony to celebrate your achievements. The event aims to provide a memorable experience for all participants while emphasizing safety with strict helmet and lighting requirements.
Parking & Transportation:
Register at Henderson Point, 4th Ave, Pass Christian, MS 39571. Shuttle services will be provided by the Coast Transit Authority back to your vehicle free of charge; however, a leisurely ride is also available for those who wish it.
