6ª CORRIDA DO FOGO

On December 5, 2026, Veranópolis will host the sixth edition of the Corrida do Fogo. Organized by the Bombeiros de Rio Grande do Sul, this vibrant race features a variety of distances to cater to all levels and ages of runners. Competitors can choose from competitive races of 4km or 8km, a participatory 2km run, and a fun-filled children's race with various age categories.
The event takes place in the heart of Veranópolis, starting at Praça XV de Novembro. Participants will navigate through scenic city streets and avenues as they cross the finish line to receive their medals. The day is packed with activities: from 14:00 onwards, kit distribution begins; children's races start at 17:00 followed by awards ceremonies for young runners until 18:00. Adult participants take off on both distances simultaneously at 19:30.
The event offers a range of amenities including hydration stations with fresh fruit and water refills throughout the course, medical support, and an expo area featuring local vendors and sponsors. A warm-up tent provides space for pre-race stretching, while post-race festivities include food stalls offering regional delicacies and live music to celebrate achievements.
Runners can opt for a premium kit that includes a race t-shirt along with their medal and timing chip or simply purchase the basic option which features just the medal and number. For children's races, participants receive either a full package including a shirt or an economical version focusing on participation recognition.
With its festive atmosphere and picturesque setting, this event promises to be both challenging and enjoyable for all who attend.
