On Sunday, November 8th, the Tallulah Falls Middle School will host the Fidelus Militus race, honoring Caleb Griffis's legacy. This event invites participants to run through a scenic course that showcases the area’s natural beauty while challenging their physical and mental strength. The day begins with check-in from 1:00 PM to 2:15 PM at Tallulah Falls Middle School. Runners are encouraged to arrive early to ensure they have enough time for proper warm-up and hydration. The race officially kicks off at 2:30 PM, promising a rewarding experience that aligns with Caleb's values of discipline and perseverance. The course is both scenic and challenging, winding through the picturesque landscape surrounding Tallulah Falls Middle School. Runners will encounter various obstacles along their path, designed to test endurance and determination—key traits exemplified by Caleb during his time at Clemson University’s Army ROTC program. Participants are advised to bring water bottles as additional hydration stations may not be available. Close-toed shoes are mandatory for safety reasons throughout the course. As runners navigate through the terrain, they will experience a mix of trails and paths that offer both elevation changes and flat stretches, ensuring an engaging run for all levels of athletes. Food trucks will likely set up at the site to provide refreshments; however, cash is recommended as many services may not accept cards. This race serves more than just physical fitness goals—it’s a tribute to Caleb Griffis's spirit. His life was marked by dedication and service, qualities that are celebrated through this event. As you run along the course where Caleb spent countless hours training, remember his story and let it inspire your journey. Proceeds from the Fidelus Militus race will support the Caleb Griffis Memorial Foundation, which aims to provide scholarships for graduating seniors at Tallulah Falls School and surrounding areas who embody Caleb’s spirit. Additionally, the foundation supports ROTC cadets at Clemson University and other institutions, ensuring that Caleb's legacy lives on through acts of service and education. Join us in celebrating this meaningful event, where every step you take is a testament to Caleb Griffis’s enduring faith and commitment. Together, we can honor his memory by running with purpose and determination.
