7th Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Cup Chungcheongnam-do Taean National Inclusive Marathon

The Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Cup Chungcheongnam-do Taean National Inclusive Marathon is set to welcome participants from across the nation on October 17, 2026. This annual event aims to promote inclusivity by bringing together runners with and without disabilities in a spectacular setting along Kkotji Beach.
Runners will gather at Kkotji Coastal Park Parking Lot starting at 8:00 AM for assembly before the opening ceremony begins promptly at 8:30 AM, featuring speeches from local dignitaries and inspirational athletes. The races kick off with staggered starts designed to ensure a smooth and safe event experience.
The half marathon takes place first, setting off at 9:00 AM along scenic coastal routes that showcase Taean's natural beauty. Shortly after, the 10 km race begins at 9:05 AM on an equally picturesque course. For wheelchair athletes, there is a dedicated 5 km event starting at 9:17 AM, followed by another 5 km run for runners without disabilities beginning at 9:22 AM.
Participants will enjoy the lush greenery and expansive views of Kkotji Beach throughout their race routes, with both physical and emotional support from fellow competitors and enthusiastic spectators. The event is organized to cater to all levels of ability, ensuring that everyone feels welcome and supported as they strive toward their personal bests.
Registration for this year's marathon opens on July 23 at 10:00 AM and closes on September 17 at 5:00 PM, with a capacity limit set at approximately 5,000 participants. Entry fees vary based on the race distance and participant status; runners without disabilities pay KRW 40,000 for both half marathon and 10 km events, while those participating in the shorter distances (including wheelchair athletes) are charged KRW 30,000.
The event is financially supported by a range of sponsors including the Korea Paralympic Committee, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Taean County, Chungcheongnam-do, Korea Sports Promotion Foundation, Lottery Commission, and Korea Western Power. These partnerships help ensure that all participants can enjoy an enriching experience while contributing to the growth of inclusive sports in South Korea.
The races are carefully timed with clear start times for each distance category to minimize congestion on the course and enhance safety measures. As part of its commitment to inclusivity, the event also offers free entry for registered runners with disabilities across all categories, including a special provision allowing one accompanying guardian per disabled runner to enter without charge but not receive participant gifts or awards.
