8. Lengericher Ultratrail

Nestled in the picturesque Tecklenburger Land region near Gemptturm with its distinctive water tower, the Lengericher Ultratrail offers runners an immersive journey through diverse landscapes. The race starts and finishes at the Großer Parkplatz Gempthalle, conveniently offering free parking on event day for all participants.
Scheduled to begin promptly at 8:30 AM, just after sunrise, this ultramarathon takes place within a time limit of nine hours plus some leeway granted by organizers. Participants will embark on two laps covering 23 kilometers each with an elevation gain of approximately 480 meters per lap. The route winds through scenic trails and paths that weave around Lengerich, passing over rocky terrain and crossing fields and meadows.
The course features a mix of forest tracks, paved roads within towns like Tecklenburg, and even ventures onto the mystical Hexenpfad trail. Runners can expect to encounter challenging climbs as well as stretches along rugged stone paths and through picturesque villages. The organizers ensure that participants are treated to stunning views throughout their journey.
Timing for this event is meticulously handled by Susanne Laig using manual timing methods. Upon completion, runners will receive a commemorative medal and certificate; however, the medals are reserved exclusively for the first 36 registrants.
Registration fees amount to €18 for full distance participants and €12 for half marathon enthusiasts. Payment details will be provided upon request on September 1st, 2026. Should you need to withdraw before October 1st, a refund of either €10 or €5 (depending on the race category) can be requested.
Participants are responsible for their own hydration and nutrition needs during the event, with only an unmanned refreshment station at around kilometer twelve offering drinks, oat cookies, Haribo candies, peanuts, and energy bars. This station has remained untouched in previous years due to participants' self-sufficiency.
Race results will be available through race result platforms following the event. Registration remains open until 6 PM on the day before the event unless the participant limit is reached earlier. Late registrations can also be considered upon request at the organizers’ discretion.

Strict adherence to environmental guidelines is also enforced; participants must not deviate from marked paths or leave behind any litter.
In case of withdrawal after completing one lap due to unforeseen circumstances, runners will be evaluated based on their half marathon performance and should inform the timing team accordingly.
