The 8th Annual SoDel Cares 5k Run / Walk & Non-Competitive Mile Walk takes place on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 9:00 AM EDT starting from Thompson Island Brewing Company on Veterans Way in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, USA. This event features a 5k run, a competitive 5k walk (for walkers only – no running or jogging), and a non-competitive one-mile walk, all benefiting SoDel Cares, the philanthropic arm of SoDel Concepts, which supports local organizations that assist children, at-risk youth and adults, and the elderly.

Event Logistics and Participant Information:

• Registration Opens: 8:00 AM on race day.
• Packet Pickup: Friday from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM (with happy hour at Thompson Island Brewing Company from 4-6 PM) or Saturday morning from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM.
• Amenities: T-shirts to all registered participants (while supplies last), complimentary crushes provided by Tito's, live music, post-race refreshments courtesy of Thompson Island Brewing Company, breakfast buffet at the post-race party, and complimentary beer for participants aged 21 and over.
• Timing: R2R Timing will use the MYLAPS BibTag Timing System. Gun time determines overall and masters winners; chip (net) time determines all other age group awards.
• Awards: Overall male and female receive a SoDel Swag Bag. Male and Female Masters winners receive a SoDel gift card. Awards to top three finishers in ten-year age groups (13 & under through 80 & over) receive medals. Top three male and female competitive walkers also receive awards.
• Team Awards: The largest team receives an award. Participants are encouraged to join one of the SoDel restaurant teams when registering.
• Results: Posted online during the race, with complete results posted after the race concludes.
• Photos: Event photos will be posted on the Races2Run Facebook page following the event.
• Policies: No dogs allowed due to insurance liability. Bibs are non-transferable. No refunds on registrations.
• Sponsors: Multiple sponsors are listed on the event page (visual logos present).

• Scenic Setting: The start and finish are at Thompson Island Brewing Company in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware – a vibrant coastal community.
• Competitive Walking Category: A dedicated competitive 5k walk category for participants who walk the entire race (no running or jogging permitted). Those who plan to run/walk must register for the 5k run/walk category.
• Non-Competitive Mile: A one-mile untimed walk for participants seeking a more relaxed, family-friendly experience.
• Post-Race Celebration: Live music, breakfast buffet, complimentary beer (for those 21+), and refreshments create a festive post-race atmosphere.
