Run4Kids Sommerda is a vibrant community race that welcomes runners of all ages and abilities to the picturesque town of Sommerda, Germany. The event takes place on a sunny day with activities designed for everyone from young children to adults. The morning kicks off at 8:30 AM when registration opens, allowing participants to collect their bib numbers and familiarize themselves with the course layout. At precisely 10:00 AM, the Bambinolauf (a short race of about 350 meters) starts for the youngest racers, followed by a slightly longer run at 10:30 AM for those aged around five to seven years old in the Bambinilauf (700m). For older children and young adults, there are two more runs scheduled. The Kinderlauf begins at 10:45 AM with a distance of about 2 kilometers, while immediately after, participants can join the Jedermannslauf for runners aged eight to thirteen years old or above who wish to compete in another 2 kilometer race. The event also offers longer distances that cater to more experienced runners. At 11:00 AM and 11:45 AM respectively, two additional Jedermannslauf events start with a choice of either 6 kilometers or the slightly challenging 8 kilometers for those looking for something more demanding. In addition to these individual races, there's also an exciting Firefighter race at 1:15 PM where participants can enjoy a short but fast-paced run covering approximately 2 kilometers. The day concludes in style with a team event starting at 2:00 PM - the Staffellauf (4x2km relay), providing teams of four runners to test their teamwork and stamina. All races are organized on safe, well-marked courses that wind through scenic routes around Sommerda's Tannen Wulf Baumschule. The race is a celebration of community spirit with plenty of support from local residents lining the streets cheering for all participants. Registration must be completed online in advance; there will not be any walk-in registrations on the day of the event. Payment options include SEPA direct debit through Race Result AG and PayPal payments directly to RUN4Kids Sommerda e.V., ensuring a smooth registration process leading up to race day. Run4Kids Sommerda promises an enjoyable experience for all participants, with a focus on fun, fitness, and fostering community connections among runners of various ages.
