Aberdeen Bike: September Overnight Bike Camping to Camp Aberdeen
About the Event
Join us for an evening adventure at Camp Aberdeen! This relaxed group ride commences with a meet-up at the local store at 5:00 PM sharp; we set off together promptly at 5:30 PM. The route will predominantly follow gravel roads, with some sections on paved paths. Feel free to start your journey in the morning if you prefer, but expect smaller groups returning to camp later. Please bring all necessary provisions for an overnight stay—food, water, and any other essentials. This event is rain or shine, so be prepared accordingly. Kids are welcome as long as they're accompanied by a parent or caregiver. While riding on a busy road near the beginning of your journey, ensure that children understand basic traffic rules to remain safe. Camp Aberdeen offers ample space for setting up tents and sleeping areas; avoid camping close to the fire pit area due to potential poison ivy nearby. The open fields and trails are generally free from this hazard, though unexplored areas might still pose a risk. For those looking forward to swimming, remember to rinse off after use to prevent swimmer's itch. Respect for our environment is paramount; please ensure that you leave no trace by packing out all your trash. There will be limited capacity in the provided bins, so dispose of waste responsibly. A friendly and gentle dog named Abel greets everyone upon arrival with a loud bark but poses no threat to visitors or children. His presence adds an extra layer of charm to our event; pet him if you wish, as this calms him down. Experience nature at its best while enjoying the camaraderie of fellow adventurers on this unique overnight ride and camping experience.
