Above the Clouds Ultra

Above The Clouds Ultra invites runners to experience an unforgettable journey through the stunning landscapes of Colorado’s autumn season. This annual ultra marathon begins in Woodland Park, known as “the City Above the Clouds,” and takes participants on a scenic route that ascends Lovell Gulch before reaching Rampart Range Road.
As runners traverse this challenging terrain, they are treated to breathtaking views of Pikes Peak, one of America’s most iconic mountains. The course then circles around Rampart Reservoir via fast and flowing singletrack trails, offering an exhilarating run through lush forest landscapes. Continuing north along quiet National Forest roads, the route provides panoramic vistas of Colorado's majestic peaks.
The adventure culminates in a descent back down Lovell Gulch to Woodland Park Middle School, where family and friends cheer on participants as they cross the finish line. This event is not just about pushing physical limits; it’s an immersive experience that highlights nature’s beauty during one of its most spectacular seasons. Participants should note that while permit approval by Pike National Forest is anticipated, final confirmation may impact the race's execution.
