Honoring the Legacy of Adam Clair Elliott, Portville's Community Comes Together for the ACE Memorial 5K and Little Ace Race
On July 25, 2026, the vibrant community of Portville, New York, will gather to celebrate and remember Adam Clair Elliott through a heartwarming event that combines athletic spirit with heartfelt commemoration. The ACE Memorial 5K and Little Ace Race are more than just races; they're an opportunity for friends and family to come together in honor of Adam's life.
The main attraction is the 5K run, which offers participants the chance to stroll or walk through the charming village streets while reflecting on community values and support. The race route loops around Portville once, providing runners with a scenic course that showcases both local landmarks and natural beauty. Starting at 8:20 AM sharp from Elm Street next to the elementary school pavilion, the event encourages all ages to participate in this meaningful journey.
For younger participants, there's also the Little Ace Race for kids under 13 years old, offering a shorter .15-mile out-and-back run that begins promptly at 8:00 AM. This fun and engaging activity is designed to foster community spirit among young residents, with all finishers receiving a special medallion.
Registration remains open until the start of each race segment, ensuring last-minute enthusiasts can still join in on this heartfelt celebration. Those who register by July 1st will receive an exclusive ACE Race T-shirt as part of their registration fee, which includes $25 for adults and $3.50 processing fees for both online transactions and onsite payments.
The event also features a virtual option for those unable to attend in person but wish to contribute. Virtual participants can complete the race at any time convenient to them within the official timeframe or on another day of their choosing, with results still counting towards overall rankings and awards.
Post-race festivities include an awards ceremony under the pavilion where snacks will be provided for all runners. Top male and female finishers in various age categories—15 and under, 16-25, 26-35, 36-45, 46-55, and over 56 years old—will receive recognition.
Parking is available at the elementary school lot on Elm Street near the playground pavilion. Participants are advised to arrive early for registration between 7:00 AM and 8:15 AM or register online before race day if they wish to secure a T-shirt in advance of July 24th, as these will be distributed on a first-come-first-served basis after the deadline.
Volunteers are eagerly sought for various roles including course marshals, water station monitors, and post-race celebration helpers.
