We are excited to join together with hundreds in Utah and virtually to take the run across the world. We hope to bring everyone together by running toward the same goal. Get your family and friends together and create a fundraising team in your name or your loved ones' name! You can also email a picture with name and dates for us to share on a sign in our memory grove section of the race course. Make sure to email the picture before August 20th so we can make sure to have them in time for the race. marissa@addicttoathlete.org For virtual runners, you can run any time, anywhere through the month of September. September is National Recovery Month which is there to increase awareness and understanding of mental illness and addictions, as well as celebrate people in recovery from these conditions. We hope to Erase the Stigma of addiction and mental illness and Replace it with Hope, Recovery, and Support! This 5K will serve as a proxy runner event. A proxy runner is a loved one who uses their legs in honor of a loved one who has lost the battle to addiction or mental illness or as a sign of love for a family member or loved one who is still battling addiction and/or mental health. We express as a team our deepest condolences for those who have received the call, felt the void, or miss that family member and friend because of addiction. Team Addict II Athlete stands behind you, as your support system and your team to help you turn the mess of addiction and loss into the message of hope and healing. To assist us as we erase addiction and replace it with family, love, support, and awareness in this service-oriented activity. As head coach of team Addict II Athlete, I invite you to participate as a proxy for those who have lost their battle and to invoke hope for those who are on the pathway to healing. We hope this year we can raise funds to assist us in continuing to help and support those struggling with addiction and mental illness. Thank you for all your support. Coach Blu

About Highland
Learn more about the host city, Highland.
Highlands or uplands are areas of high elevation such as a mountainous region, elevated mountainous plateau or high hills. Generally, upland refers to a range of hills, typically from 300 m (980 ft) up to 600 m (2,000 ft), while highland is usually reserved for ranges of low mountains. However, the two terms are interchangeable and also include regions that are transitional between hilly and mountainous terrain.
