Aizu Bandai Mountain Ultra Marathon

About the Event

Three towns, one mountain, three ultra distances, and a relay. The 5th Aizu Bandaisan Ultra Marathon runs across the foothills of Mount Bandai on June 13–14, 2026. Start locations are spread across Inawashiro Town, Kitashiobara Village, and Bandai Town, with all races finishing at Camerina in Inawashiro. Choose 100 km solo, 65 km solo, 44 km solo, or the 100 km ekiden relay (4‑person team).

100 km Ekiden (4‑person relay)
Leg 1: Camerina → Kyukamura (33 km)
Leg 2: Kyukamura → Kyu-Opusu (27 km)
Leg 3: Kyu-Opusu → Higashi‑Nihon Rental (22 km)
Leg 4: Higashi‑Nihon Rental → Camerina (18 km)

Age & Eligibility:

Minimum 15 years old (parental consent required for minors).
Participants must be confident in completing the full course within cutoff times without getting lost.
Voluntary cooperation with regional revitalization (using local accommodations, shops, etc.) is encouraged.

Schedule (Weekend of June 13–14, 2026):

Saturday, June 13: 13:00–17:00 – Bib pickup & EXPO at Camerina (Inawashiro General Gymnasium).
Sunday, June 14:
100 km & ekiden start 5:00 (Camerina)
65 km start 7:00 (Kyukamura)
44 km start 10:00 (Kyu-Opusu Bandai)
Awards ceremony (estimated) 16:00 at Camerina (44 km awards at Kamegaoka Park).

Cutoffs & Light Check:

100 km / ekiden: Gate 1 (33 km, Kyukamura) – 10:00. Gate 2 (60 km, Kyu-Opusu) – 15:00. Gate 3 (82 km, Higashi‑Nihon Rental) – 17:15. Gate 4 (91 km, Showa no Mori) – 18:45. Finish – 20:00.
65 km: Gate 1 (30 km, Kyu-Opusu) – 12:15. Finish – 17:30.
44 km: Gate 1 (27 km, Higashi‑Nihon Rental) – 14:45. Gate 2 (37 km, Showa no Mori) – 16:15. Finish – 17:30.
100 km runners and ekiden leg 4 runners must pass a headlamp check from 18:00. No light = disqualification.

Fukushima Resident Exception:

65 km and 44 km participants who are Fukushima residents can register on race day morning (instead of Saturday).
65 km: 5:30–6:00 at Kyukamura. 44 km: 8:30–9:00 at Kyu-Opusu Bandai.

Awards:

100 km / 65 km / 44 km: overall male/female 1st–5th, age group 1st–3rd (excluding overall winners).
Ekiden: team overall 1st–3rd.
Repeater discount available (past participants including DNS). Category changes allowed.
Optional event T‑shirt (+¥1,000).
