The Alive & Suffering Running Club's 5k Pride Run returns to Los Angeles on Sunday, June 14th, 2026, as part of the vibrant LA Pride celebrations. This year marks the first edition of a community-driven event that aims to celebrate pride and inclusivity through running. The race starts at Couplet Coffee in downtown Los Angeles, where participants will gather for an early morning celebration before heading out onto the streets.

As runners make their way along the route, they'll pass by familiar landmarks like historic buildings and bustling cafes, all set against a backdrop of clear blue skies and warm sunshine typical for Los Angeles in June. The air carries a hint of coffee from Couplet Coffee as well as the sounds of joyous chatter and laughter among participants.
This inaugural 5k Pride Run is more than just a race; it's an affirmation of community strength and diversity. All paces, all people come together to celebrate pride, joy, and movement. While this year marks its debut, organizers hope for continued growth in the years ahead, turning it into an annual tradition that reflects the spirit of Los Angeles’s vibrant LGBTQ+ community. The 5k Pride Run takes place on a hard-surfaced route with dry trails throughout downtown Los Angeles. Starting at Couplet Coffee, participants will embark on a course that winds through familiar streets lined with trees providing shade during the early morning hours. Key features of the route include well-marked distance signs every kilometer and aid stations strategically placed to offer water and energy drinks.
Starting times are staggered for each pace group starting promptly at 8:00 AM, ensuring an organized flow from start to finish. The elevation profile is relatively flat with slight undulations as runners navigate through the streets of downtown Los Angeles. Aid stations will be located every two kilometers along the route, providing essential hydration and energy support.
Runners should prepare for mild June weather in Los Angeles characterized by temperatures that feel like 21°C on average. Although there’s a low chance of rain at only 0.1mm expected, humidity levels hover around 68%, creating conditions that require runners to stay hydrated. The UV index is forecasted to be very high (8), so sunscreen and sunglasses are recommended for sun protection.

The Alive & Suffering Running Club’s 5k Pride Run registration is free of charge this year, making it accessible to all members of the community who wish to participate.
