All Heroes Don't Wear Capes 5k & Fun Run

On November 14, 2026, the Cecil Gym and Fitness Center in Jacksonville, Florida will host the All Heroes Don't Wear Capes 5K Run and Fun Walk. This inspiring community event honors the memory of Michael Lee Freeland, a dedicated firefighter who gave his life while serving others on duty.
Participants can pick up their race packets at The Cecil Gym and Fitness Center located at 13531 Lake Newman Street from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Friday, November 13th. On the day of the event, runners will gather early for a moving ceremony before setting off on an energizing 5K course that winds through scenic neighborhoods near the center.
The race is more than just a run; it's a celebration of community spirit and dedication to those who serve others selflessly. All proceeds from this year’s event support teen parents and underprivileged youth in Jacksonville, continuing Michael Freeland’s legacy of helping others. Each participant will receive a commemorative T-shirt and finisher’s medal upon crossing the line.
The Mike Freeland Foundation, established by his mother Terona Feacher following Michael's tragic death on November 11, 2021, works tirelessly to provide assistance and support for at-risk youth in Jacksonville. By taking part in this race, runners contribute directly to these efforts, ensuring that Michael’s spirit of service lives on.
