Andover Trail Marathon

North Hampshire's premier Marathon and Half Marathon returns, offering runners an exhilarating journey through some of the area’s most stunning landscapes. The course features challenging ascents with a peak elevation of 280 meters, followed by long stretches of fast downhill sections that provide breathtaking views of lush meadows and rolling valleys.
The event also hosts the Military Cup—a unique opportunity for serving military personnel to compete in teams for an esteemed silverware prize. Teams consist of up to four runners from each unit, who can enter as many groups as they like, either competing in the half marathon or full marathon format. The team with the fastest cumulative time wins.
Race day begins early, with a briefing at 0745 hrs for those tackling the full marathon and starting at 0800 hrs, followed by a Half Marathon briefing at 0815 hrs, kicking off promptly at 0830 hrs. Both events have generous cut-off times to accommodate runners of all paces: seven hours for the marathon and three-and-a-half hours for the half.
The marathon route spans an impressive 26.2 miles, taking participants along Testway up to Coombe Gibbet, Hampshire's highest point, before descending through picturesque villages like Enham on stunning tracks winding through the Conholt estate. The Half Marathon is a scenic loop of 13.1 miles that ascends to Hurstbourne Tarrant and then winds back down via beautiful trails leading into Enham.
The route will be fully marked by volunteers in advance, ensuring clear navigation for all participants. Aid stations are strategically placed along the course: three well-stocked aid stations for marathon runners and a single halfway station for half marathoners, each providing essential supplies to keep you fueled throughout your run.
Medical support is available at every major location on both routes, offering peace of mind as you push yourself through challenging terrain. The race organizers aim to create an atmosphere that caters to seasoned athletes seeking personal bests while also welcoming those who are up for a formidable challenge in a relaxed and supportive environment.
Upon crossing the finish line, all participants will receive a commemorative medal, with additional prizes awarded to the top three male and female runners in both events. The race is chip-timed, ensuring accurate results available instantly upon completion.
