Arthur’s Army 5K and Fun Run

Born two and half years ago, Arthur’s brief but profound impact continues to inspire those around him through this event. The name "Arthur" translates to “bear,” a symbol of strength and courage—qualities we hope will guide runners as they tackle the scenic 5K course.
Proceeds from the race go directly to Rachel's Gift, an organization that has been there for the Doss family since day one, offering support during incredibly difficult times. By participating in Arthur’s Army 5K & Fun Run, you’re not just running a race; you’re making a difference and contributing to meaningful change.
The atmosphere at this event is electric, with families coming together to remember Arthur while enjoying all the park has to offer. The course winds through Oak Mountain State Park's lush trails, offering runners stunning views of nature as they complete their 5K journey. After crossing the finish line, participants will be greeted by a variety of post-race festivities including free Kona Ice treats and an energetic after party.
But that’s not all—race day also features fun activities for kids such as bounce houses to keep them entertained while adults enjoy live music and food trucks offering delicious snacks and beverages. Every runner who registers receives a commemorative race shirt, a finisher's medal, and the chance to take part in this heartwarming celebration.
