About the Event

The relay is meant first of all to let runners of every level cooperate over a set distance and share the fun of running. The organizers note that parts of the course are narrow and ask all runners to look out for one another. Donations collected through the event go to refugee support via the Japan Association for UNHCR, the official support channel for UNHCR in Japan. The half relay (21.0975 km) takes teams of 3 to 10 at 2,000 yen per person, and the full relay (42.195 km) takes teams of 4 to 15 at 2,500 yen per person, with junior high age and over eligible.
