Grafham Triathlon welcomes athletes of all levels for its Sprint and Standard distance races, hosted annually as part of the East Region Adult Race Series. Organized by ATW, this renowned triathlon offers both seasoned competitors seeking speed and newcomers looking for a welcoming environment. The event unfolds at Grafham Water, known for hosting award-winning triathlons, national championships, and GB qualifier races. Participants can choose between two distances: - Standard Distance Triathlon: swim 1500m, cycle 38km, run 10km - Sprint Distance Triathlon: swim 750m, cycle 17km, run 5km The swim takes place in the pristine waters of Grafham Water reservoir. Sprinters complete one lap (750 meters), while Standard distance athletes tackle two laps. For cyclists, a flat out-and-back course winds through picturesque villages and towns like Perry and St Neots. The bike route offers breathtaking scenery with minimal elevation changes, making it ideal for fast times. The run leg features a 5km loop around the natural footpaths of Grafham Water. Athletes will traverse across the iconic dam wall before looping back to the transition area where they’ll receive enthusiastic support from spectators and volunteers every lap. In addition to individual races, there’s an Aquabike option for those who prefer not to run and a relay event allowing teams of 2 or 3 members to share disciplines. Event amenities include custom-designed medals awarded at the finish line along with complimentary race photos. Athletes can also take advantage of Zone3 wetsuit rentals. For athletes looking to extend their stay, camping options are available through Lakeview Paddock and dormitory-style accommodation is offered by Grafham Water Centre for those who want a stress-free approach before the event. Participants have the opportunity to support Alzheimer's Research UK by raising funds during race registration. Every stride contributes not only to personal achievement but also towards advancing research in this critical area. ATW’s flexible transfer policy accommodates unforeseen circumstances, allowing athletes to move their entry to any future ATW event up until 48 hours before the original date without needing proof of reason. Join a community passionate about achieving dreams and sharing experiences. Engage with fellow participants through social media platforms or join the interactive ATW Chat Facebook group for advice and support leading up to race day. Grafham Triathlon promises an unforgettable experience set against the backdrop of stunning natural beauty, supported by experienced organizers dedicated to making every athlete's journey memorable.
