Austria Backyard Ultra - Ternberg TRAIL 2027

Austria Backyard Ultra invites trail runners to test their endurance and determination against the clock on an enchanting course that winds through Austria's picturesque landscapes. This unique race challenges participants with a simple yet demanding format: every hour, competitors must complete one 6.706 km (4.167 miles) loop within exactly one hour or risk elimination.
The event commences at 9:00 AM on Thursday, May 6th, 2027 and continues until only a single runner remains on the course. As rounds progress, runners will face increasingly grueling conditions with each lap adding to their cumulative distance. Seven loops surpass the marathon mark, while fifteen laps amount to an impressive 100 kilometers (62 miles). For those up for the ultimate challenge, completing twenty-four loops equals a staggering 100 miles.
In addition to this solo endeavor, runners have the opportunity to join forces in three-person teams by entering under the same team name. Each individual competes independently but collectively their progress is tracked towards the Austria Backyard Ultra Team-Challenge. Should one member drop out of the race, the remaining teammates continue undisturbed until they choose to stop.
The event adheres strictly to official Backyard Ultra regulations and promises an exhilarating blend of competition and camaraderie among participants. With stunning scenery and a supportive community atmosphere, runners are encouraged to push their limits while enjoying the scenic trails that Austria has to offer.
