The Autumn 100, an exhilarating trail race through the picturesque villages of Goring and Streatley on the banks of the River Thames, is set for another spectacular year. This challenging yet rewarding 100-mile continuous course weaves runners along a unique cross-shaped route that highlights both the Ridgeway National Trail and sections of the Thames Path. Runners will start their journey at 09:00 from Goring, embarking on four distinct out-and-back spurs each spanning approximately 25 miles. The first leg follows the picturesque Thames Path to Little Wittenham before a return trip back to Goring. On the second spur, runners venture onto the Ridgeway National Trail towards Swyncombe Farm and then retrace their steps through stunning landscapes. The third section sees participants heading west along the Ridgeway to Chain Hill before turning around for another leg on familiar ground. The final stretch takes runners from Goring to Reading via the Thames Path before completing the full 100 miles back in Goring. Ideal conditions, such as dry weather and flat terrain, offer a fast-paced run through some of England's most scenic countryside. However, participants must also be prepared for up to 13 hours of darkness during autumn nights, along with potential cold temperatures and inclement weather typical of the season. Participants will enjoy comprehensive support throughout their journey, including sixteen well-stocked aid stations, full medical coverage, detailed course markings in addition to National Trail waymarkers. The race is held under a UK Athletics Permit granted through TRA (Permit Number Pending), ensuring safety and official recognition for all runners who take part. For those interested but currently on the waiting list due to event capacity limits, signing up now will secure your place should one become available. Should you need additional support or have questions about race day logistics, detailed guidance is readily accessible through our Waiting List Help section.
