The AZT Oracle Rumble returns to Oracle, Arizona on January 30th, 2027, bringing together runners for a unique adventure through the scenic trails near Tucson. This event is hosted in the historic town of Oracle, located within an hour's drive north of Tucson and nestled at the foot of the Santa Catalina Mountains, which sit on ancestral lands belonging to the Tohono O'odham and Ndee (Western Apache) peoples. The AZT Oracle Rumble features a challenging course that winds through Oracle State Park and parts of the Arizona National Scenic Trail.
Race day in January typically sees clear blue skies over Oracle, with temperatures expected around 60 degrees Fahrenheit at dawn, dropping to about 45°F by mid-morning as runners move along the trail. The UV index is low, but sunscreen remains advisable due to the desert sun's intensity even on cooler days. Trail conditions are firm and slightly soft underfoot, providing a stable yet engaging run for participants.
The AZT Oracle Rumble has been an annual event since 2018, organized by the Arizona Trail Association and supported by local trail runners passionate about preserving Arizona’s natural landscapes through running events.
