Backyard Ultra Solidaire

The Backyard Ultra Solidaire, presented by the Parc des Sommets and sponsored by Xact Nutrition, is set to take place from July 11-12, 2026. This unique race offers a perfect blend of individual challenge and collective spirit over 24 hours on a single loop course.
Participants can choose between two formats: the 'U' Ultra format or the Solidarity ('S') format. In the 'U' format, competitors push their limits in an hour-based relay with each lap completed within one hour to keep the race going. The last runner standing wins, and if there are multiple runners left at the end of 24 hours, the fastest among them claims victory.
For those preferring a more relaxed approach, the 'S' format allows for flexibility. Runners can complete laps at their own pace without any time constraints or eliminations. Each lap is recorded to ensure all efforts are recognized and celebrated, promoting solidarity and shared experiences rather than competition.
The race course, nestled in the picturesque Parc des Sommets, offers a challenging yet enjoyable terrain with 5.2 kilometers of trails and an elevation gain of 133 meters. The event provides dishing stations from Xact Nutrition throughout to keep runners fueled during their runs.
Beyond the physical challenge, participants will be supporting L'Effet BU—a foundation dedicated to promoting healthy, safe, and inclusive sports through various charitable causes. For every lap completed, a dollar is donated back to this cause, encouraging community involvement in fundraising efforts.
The event also features free parking, camping facilities with BBQs and toilets, and refreshments provided by Xact Nutrition for the entire duration of the race. Participants will receive surprises from Ultra partners, turning it into an inclusive party atmosphere.
Safety and health are paramount at Backyard Ultra Solidaire. Runners must sign a general waiver before participating to acknowledge potential risks such as falls, weather conditions, wildlife encounters, or extreme fatigue. Medical assistance is available through volunteer first responders who can provide care if needed.
For those interested in making an additional donation, the race supports L'Effet BU's fundraising efforts for over 20 partner causes. Donors will have their personal information shared with relevant organizations to facilitate tax receipts and communications related to donations.
