Balkaniada, one of the most anticipated mountain running events in the Balkans, returns to Central Balkan National Park with even greater enthusiasm. Building on its reputation for excellence from previous years, this year’s edition promises an unparalleled experience for over a thousand runners eager to explore some of Bulgaria's most stunning landscapes. The event offers four distinct challenges tailored to various levels of expertise and endurance: First up is the Vertical Kilometer (VK), designed for those who are ready to push their limits against gravity. This steep, uphill course demands both physical strength and mental fortitude as participants ascend through challenging terrain. For runners seeking a more manageable yet exhilarating adventure, the Balkaniada 12K presents an accessible route that still delivers plenty of excitement without overwhelming distances or technical difficulties. The Balkaniada Sky 27K is ideal for those looking to balance challenge with scenic beauty. This mid-distance race traverses diverse terrain and showcases breathtaking views across the park’s rugged yet picturesque landscapes. Finally, the signature event—the Balkaniada Classic 44K—takes runners along Central Balkan National Park's main ridge. This longer course highlights both the region’s natural splendor and its demanding trails, offering a true test of endurance amidst stunning vistas. Balkaniada is renowned for its vibrant atmosphere, meticulous organization, and iconic routes that seamlessly blend nature’s wildness with breathtaking beauty. Whether you’re an experienced mountain runner or new to the sport, this event promises an unforgettable journey through some of Bulgaria's most captivating terrain. Participants can look forward to a well-organized race day with exceptional support from volunteers, partners, and organizers who ensure every detail is taken care of so that runners can focus on enjoying their run. The combination of challenging courses and stunning scenery makes Balkaniada an event not to be missed for mountain running enthusiasts around the globe.
