BARC Big Race 10 Miler

The Bay Area Running Club (BARC) is excited to introduce the inaugural BARC BIG Race - a thrilling 10-Miler set for Sunday, August 16th. This race was designed specifically based on member requests for an extended distance event late in summer. The scenic route will take runners along the Great Lakes Bay Regional Trail through picturesque sections of Bay City and surrounding townships.
The day's festivities kick off at Coryell Field (514 Morton St., Bay City, 48706) with staggered start times: 7:30 AM for the 10-Mile Run, followed by a 2 Mile Run starting at 7:45 AM and a 5K Walk beginning promptly at 7:50 AM. The trail offers stunning views of serene landscapes as it winds through varied terrain over its down-and-back course.
With only 200 spots available to ensure an intimate race experience, runners should secure their entry early for the best rates:
- Before July 30th: $30 for the 10-Mile Run, $25 for the 5K Walk, and $12 for the 2 Mile Run.
- Between July 30th - August 14th: Entry fees increase to $40, $30, and $15 respectively.
Race-day registration is also available but comes with a higher price tag of $45 for the 10-Mile Run, $35 for the 5K Walk, and $20 for the 2 Mile Run. Online registration closes at midnight on August 15th, though race day sign-ups are still possible starting at 6:30 AM.
Awards will be presented to top finishers in various categories including overall male and female winners, masters (40+), grandmasters (60+), age group awards for the 10-Mile Run only, and first-place male and female finishers in each division of the 5K Walk.
Participants are advised that all entry fees are non-refundable and encouraged to arrive dressed for action as portable toilets will be provided at the start line.
Parking near Coryell Field is limited so plan accordingly or consider alternative parking options nearby. Remember, no animals or wheeled devices such as bicycles, roller skates, skateboards, etc., are permitted on race day.
