Join us for the fifth edition of the Barley's Broken Rail Relay, an exhilarating Ragnar-style relay race that winds through North London before reaching its epic finish line at Broken Rail Brewery in St. Mary’s. This 50 km challenge is designed to be a blend of camaraderie and competition as teams of four runners take on eight distinct sections. Each team member will run two legs, alternating between trails and roads, with distances ranging from 4.5 to 9 kilometers per section. As one runner pushes through the course, their teammates provide support by driving ahead in a vehicle, ensuring hydration, snacks, music, and cheers for every leg of the journey. Precision Fuel & Hydration will be on hand this year to supply all runners with nutrition throughout the race, helping everyone stay strong and energized. The event culminates at Broken Rail Brewery, where participants can celebrate their achievement over cold beers, delicious food, and great company. To commemorate your participation in this milestone edition of the relay, each runner will receive a limited-edition BBRRT-shirt from New Balance. All proceeds from the race go to Ronald McDonald House Charities, supporting families with seriously ill children during difficult times. Teams are encouraged but not required to raise additional funds for Ronald McDonald House between now and race day. The top fundraising team will be rewarded with a new running kit courtesy of our sponsor, New Balance. With only 30 spots available, it's important to act quickly by designating your team captain through the "Team Captain Registration" link. Your captain must create the team name while other members can register using the "Non-Captain Registration" link and selecting their pre-established team from a drop-down menu. Scott Goodyear will be in touch with all designated captains well before race day to discuss route specifics, provide detailed information about logistics, and address any questions or concerns. This unique event is not just an athletic challenge but also a testament to the power of community spirit and philanthropy. The Barley's Broken Rail Relay promises an unforgettable experience for runners who are ready to push their limits while making a difference in the lives of others. Don't miss out on this once-a-year opportunity to run, bond with teammates, and contribute positively to society.
