Embark on an unforgettable journey from Barnstaple Pannier Market to the picturesque Crow Point beach, as part of this year’s Barney to Beach event. Celebrating 20 years of FiG, this scenic run through North Devon's countryside offers a unique blend of physical challenge and community spirit. The eight-mile route starts in the heart of Barnstaple before meandering along the Tarka Trail, known for its stunning coastal views and serene landscapes. Runners will face an exhilarating finale as they sprint across the dunes towards the finish line at Crow Point beach, marking a triumphant end to this adventure from 'Town to Tide'. This event is open to all abilities, making it accessible whether you're looking to push your limits or enjoy a leisurely run with friends and family. The Barney to Beach race has quickly become one of North Devon's most beloved sporting events. To commemorate the 20th anniversary, FiG invites local businesses, organizations, and families to participate in raising £20,000 for their cause. Entry costs just £26.50 per adult, but participants are encouraged to seek sponsorships to help support bereaved children and young people across North Devon and Torridge. Children aged 16 or under have the option of joining a one-mile fun run along the dunes near Crow Point beach (Under-5s must be accompanied by an adult). Alternatively, they can participate in the full event if supervised. Registration for all runners is available both online ahead of time and on-site at the event village. The event village adjacent to Crow Point Car Park offers a lively atmosphere with live music, refreshments, children's entertainment, and more. It’s just a short walk from the finish line where participants can celebrate their achievement. Please note that due to terrain challenges, Barney to Beach is not suitable for wheelchairs or pushchairs. For further inquiries about accessibility, contact [email protected]. Dogs are welcome as long as they accompany walkers rather than runners. Entry fees are non-refundable and parking at Crow Point incurs a small toll but provides easy access to the event village. Join us in celebrating 20 years of hope by signing up for Barney to Beach and supporting FiG’s important mission.
