About the Event

BEACHRUNS 2026 returns to Mission Beach in Queensland, Australia on July 19th with a variety of distances including the 5K fun run, 10K, half marathon, and team relay challenge.
Mission Beach is known for its palm tree-lined beaches and island views. On race morning, runners will start from (north) Mission Beach where the traditional start/finish base has been relocated to. The course follows South Mission Beach, Wongaling Beach, and Mission Beach, all on hard and dry sand with ocean vistas leading towards Dunk Island.
The event has a rich history of running since 1976, growing in popularity each year. With over 250 participants last year, the race supports local charities through its proceeds, making it significant for both runners and community members alike.
The course layout offers a mix of terrains from soft to hard sand, with notable features such as coastal pathways and scenic stretches providing stunning views throughout. The half marathon is particularly challenging but rewarding due to the entire length being run along these beautiful beaches.
