Come run along the banks of the Bear River in the Bear River State Park of Evanston Wyoming. The Bear River Trail Race combines the Bear River greenway with the well groomed trails of the Bear River State Park and the Rio Oso Trails just outside of Evanston Wyoming. These trails give a challenging but achievable experience for those looking to challenge themselves in new ways. You will run through the lush river bottoms and see the breathtaking Bear River and all the wildlife that comes with it. With a minimal amount of elevation gain and well groomed trails this is a great introduction race onto the trails! Aid stations will be placed along the course and a T-shirt and finisher award will be given to all finishers. Take a look at our two distances and choose the one that calls your name. Your participation will help make the inaugural Bear River Trail Race a memorable one! 10k- 6.2 miles; 45 feet of total vert; 6 hour cutoff Race Summary: If you want a great introduction into trail running this 10k is the perfect one. It combines the Bear River greenway with the well groomed trails of the Bear River State Park to give a challenging but achievable experience. You will run through the lush river bottoms and see the breathtaking bear river and all the wildlife that come with it. Don't forget to stop and check out the Bison and Elk in the park. If you look hard enough you might even see the White Bison. Walkers are welcome for this distance!!! Half Marathon (13.1 Miles) 684 feet of vertical gain; 6 hour cutoff Summary- The half marathon will give you a taste of both the green lush terrain surrounding the Bear River while also adventuring up onto the Wyoming bluffs above the Bear river where you will take in the sights of the Wyoming plains, high Uinta mountain skyline and look down on the meandering Bear river from above. Walkers are welcome for this distance. 17 Miler- 1,138 feet of vertical gain; 6 hour cutoff Summary- If you want to have the whole Bear River Trail Run experience this is the race for you. This race will take you through the green lush river bottoms past the elk and famous white bison. Then move up into Wyoming desert plains where you will have amazing views of the surrounding wilderness and unobstructed views of the Uinta mountain range. The high point on this course will be at an elevation of 7,342 feet before you return back to the Bear River Meadows where you started. This is the ultimate challenge of the Bear River Trail Run.
