Beast of the Beacons Ultra 40m plus 20m & 10mile

The Beast of the Beacons 10 Mile, 20 Mile, and 40 Mile races promise an exhilarating journey through some of Wales' most awe-inspiring landscapes within the Brecon Beacons National Park. These events cater to runners at all levels, from seasoned trail warriors to those new to the sport.
The race begins in Llangynidr village hall, nestled deep inside the park's heartland, and takes participants on a journey that traverses forests, mountains, rivers, reservoirs, and mud-filled trails. Red kites soar overhead while an array of wildlife dots the landscape, making each step feel like an adventure in nature’s wild kingdom. For those opting for the full 40-mile challenge, you'll get a second lap of the course in reverse direction, offering new perspectives on familiar scenery. Each distance comes with generous cut-off times: five hours for the 10-miler, eight hours for the 20-miler, and sixteen hours for the epic 40-mile run.
A highlight for trail enthusiasts is that this event welcomes canicross runners—those who enjoy running alongside their dogs on a leash. Dogs must be at least one year old, fit to participate, and under strict control throughout the race. While owners are responsible for their pets both during the race and around headquarters, regrettably, no trophies will be awarded in this category due to the unique advantages canicross runners might experience.
