Beh na Muránsky hrad

Join us for the third annual "Run to Muráň Castle" on October 17, 2026, an exciting cross-country race set against the backdrop of picturesque Slovakia. This unique event offers runners a challenging course through the rolling hills and dense forests surrounding Muráň, with most of the route following woodland trails and winding asphalt paths.
The day kicks off at 8:30 AM in the courtyard of Muráň’s primary school where participants can pick up their race numbers and chips. A detailed briefing about the course will be provided at 9:45 AM before competitors head to the start line located just outside Muráň Castle's main entrance, ready for a morning full of adventure.
The event is meticulously organized by Obec Muráň and Vyšší level, ensuring all participants are well-supported throughout their run. Refreshments will be available both along the course and at designated rest stops. Upon completion of your race, enjoy a complimentary lunch in the heart of Muráň's charming town center starting from 12:00 PM.
Registration fees vary based on when you sign up; online registration before October 11th costs €17 while same-day entries are priced at €25. Each fee includes not only participation but also a finisher medal, lunch, and refreshments during the race. Note that insurance is not included in your entry fee.
The course itself features an elevation profile with numerous hills and undulations, providing plenty of opportunities to test endurance while taking in stunning views of Muráň Castle towering over the landscape. The event promises to be a memorable experience for runners looking to challenge themselves on scenic terrain.
Awards will be given to the top three finishers in each age category: men aged 50 and above (born 1976 or earlier), women aged 40 and older (born 1986 or before), men under 50 years old, and women younger than 40. Should any category have fewer than five registered participants, it will be combined with another age group.
Race timing is provided by raceFlow; remember to return your bib number after crossing the finish line as this allows for real-time results updates during the event which can also be viewed on beh.sk and FB page of OZ Vyšší Level.
