BigMud invites trail runners to immerse themselves in an exhilarating adventure through the picturesque Meon Valley. This race offers two thrilling options: a full marathon (26.2 miles) and a shorter 16-mile journey, both starting at Queen Elizabeth Country Park in Hampshire.
The course takes you on a challenging ascent twice up Butser Hill—the highest point of the South Downs—where runners will climb to an elevation gain of over 500 feet each time. From there, you'll traverse through the undulating trails and rolling hills of the South Downs National Park before descending back down to the finish line at the base of Butser Hill.
As you navigate rugged terrain and splash through muddy sections, BigMud's electric atmosphere will keep your energy high, with fellow runners cheering each other on throughout. The race offers a perfect blend of physical challenge and scenic beauty that leaves participants feeling both accomplished and inspired.
