BigSky, the crowning jewel of the Classic Element Trail Series, invites runners to embark on an unforgettable journey through the heart of the New Forest National Park. This majestic race begins at sunrise from Hyde Common, one of the park's highest vantage points, offering panoramic views that stretch across rolling hills and open plains.
As dawn breaks, you'll set off along a meticulously marked course that weaves through diverse landscapes. The route takes runners on an 18-mile trek or a full marathon, each distance showcasing the New Forest’s natural beauty in all its splendor. You’ll traverse wide-open fields dotted with wildflowers and winding forest paths shaded by ancient trees. Wildlife abounds here, adding to the sense of adventure as you navigate through this untamed wilderness.
The event is known for its welcoming atmosphere, where runners are encouraged to embrace each moment along the way. The course features two aid stations on the shorter route and three on the marathon distance, ensuring that participants have access to hydration and support throughout their journey. Additional water stops are strategically placed along both routes to keep everyone energized.
As you near the finish line, the final stretch winds through Hampton Ridge, offering breathtaking vistas before leading back to Hyde Common where runners can relax and refuel.
