The Bike Hub presents the Sunday Epic ride series, offering an unparalleled mixed-terrain experience across some of the tri-state area's most scenic routes. Join us for these all-day adventures that combine forgotten woods roads with fast gravel paths and rugged singletrack. Hike-a-bike sections add to the challenge, making every ride a memorable journey through diverse landscapes. Starting at 8:00 AM on select Sundays from April to September, each event will take you through varied terrains, ensuring a unique experience each time. While no perfect bike exists for these rides, tires with about a two-inch width are recommended. More specific terrain details will be provided in advance of each ride. The third Sunday of the month brings an extra tough challenge: the Grass Mtn Sufferset. This ride starts and ends at the Shaftsbury Historical Society on Route 7A, where you should park by the red barn. The route is fully self-supported, requiring participants to carry essentials like spare tubes, pumps, multi-tools, patch kits, food, and water. We encourage a group pace of around 10 miles per hour but recognize that terrain and climbing can influence this average. While we occasionally stop for snacks or at convenience stores, much of the ride is too remote for such stops. Therefore, come prepared to cover long distances without resupply points. The day promises continuous movement with occasional breaks for sustenance. The atmosphere remains relaxed and supportive as riders navigate together but also explore their own paces when desired. For detailed maps and more information, visit our RideWithGPS link provided below. While these rides are free of charge, we welcome donations to support the Bike Hub's mission of removing barriers to cycling in the tri-state area through education, bike access programs, and community events for all ages and abilities. Join us on one or many Sundays this season to experience what makes our region so special from a cyclist’s perspective. For more details about our shop and programs, click here.
