The third Sunday of every month from April to September brings an unforgettable experience with the Bike Hub's Sunday Epic ride series. Spanning diverse terrains including winding forest roads, challenging singletrack, and even sections requiring hike-a-bike, these rides promise a mix of exhilaration and beauty. This final Sunday Epic of the season invites riders to gather at Chapel Road for what promises to be an epic journey. The route begins with a scenic climb over Glastenbury's spine via Kelley Stand before descending into the rugged landscapes around Prospect Rock alongside the Long Trail. From there, the ride weaves through Manchester’s varied terrain – from paved roads and gravel paths back home. A 2-inch or wider tire is recommended for this adventure to ensure a smoother experience on both smooth and overgrown surfaces. Riders are encouraged to be self-sufficient; bring essentials like spare tubes, pumps, multi-tools, patch kits, food, and water. While occasional stops at convenience stores may offer relief in some areas, much of the route remains remote. The group pace typically averages around 10 mph but can vary based on terrain and climbing challenges. The ride is designed to take a significant portion of the day, with continuous movement punctuated by brief snack breaks as needed. After completing this challenging yet rewarding journey, riders are invited to celebrate at the host's place – complete with food, drink, bonfires, and camaraderie. For more information on participating or contributing, explore our offerings through RideWithGPS links and detailed shop and program pages available online. Though these rides are free of charge, donations are greatly appreciated to support community cycling initiatives within the tri-state area. Join us for an adventure that not only tests your limits but also connects you with a vibrant cycling community dedicated to inclusivity and education.
