About the Event

On October 11, 2026, the Illawarra Triathlon Club hosts 'The Transitioner' series for young athletes aged 13 to 23 years. Located in scenic New South Wales, this unique multisport event offers a variety of race formats tailored specifically for NSW Pathway participants. The day kicks off at 6:00 am with registration and transition area setup, followed by the first non-draft legal triathlon starting at 7:05 am featuring a swim of 250 meters, a run to T1, and either a 6km or 8km bike ride depending on whether it's a heat or final race. The draft-legal heats commence with two rounds in the morning before concluding with finals later in the day at 9:35 am and 10:10 am respectively. Each event includes challenging runs ranging from 750 to 1500 meters, pushing athletes through a mix of terrain that showcases both the beauty and rigor of the Illawarra region. The atmosphere is electric with enthusiastic supporters cheering on these young triathletes as they navigate their way through each leg of the race.
