Blazing Saddles Century-2026

The North Shore Cyclists present the Blazing Saddles Century, an annual cycling event that marks the beginning of fall racing in New England. This year’s edition offers four distinct road routes, ranging from 36 to 100 miles, catering to a diverse array of cyclists.
This year introduces a new mixed-terrain route stretching 41 miles through varied landscapes including rail trails, fire roads, and single-track paths. With an impressive 62% non-paved surface coverage, this challenging yet scenic route promises a thrilling experience for participants. Five bailout points are strategically placed to assist riders who might need to exit the more rugged terrain.
The event kicks off on Saturday, August 15th at 7 am with registration opening early. Cyclists can choose from starting times between 7 and 9 am depending on their chosen route—beginning at 7 am for those opting for the longer distances of 100, 80, or 65 miles, followed by starts from 8 to 9 am for shorter routes like 36 and 52 miles.
Post-ride festivities include a picnic lunch available between 11 am and 3:30 pm, providing cyclists with the perfect opportunity to refuel and socialize.
Registration fees are $65 for NSC members until June 30th; non-members pay $70 during this period. The fee increases to $75 for NSC members and $80 for non-members from July 1st through August 11th, with the final rate of $95 applicable only on race day.
