The course itself loops through the picturesque Discovery Meadow, offering both 5K and 10K options for participants to choose from. Starting at the vibrant entrance along West San Fernando Street, runners are greeted by a series of well-marked distance markers that guide them seamlessly around the park's perimeter. Along the route, notable features include the scenic views across downtown buildings and the tranquil green spaces within Discovery Meadow itself. For those opting for the 10K challenge, there’s an added excitement as they approach the finish line with only a few laps remaining.
On race day, expect temperatures to hover around 22.5°C (72°F) with comfortable humidity levels of approximately 59%, making it ideal weather conditions for running. The average wind speed is mild at just 9 km/h, which means runners can focus on their pace without much concern about head or tail winds. While the temperature feels perfect, a light jacket might be wise in case there’s any unexpected drop later in the day.

For first-time participants or those new to Downtown San Jose, it’s essential to know that the race starts and finishes in Discovery Meadow. Participants must arrive by 6:30 AM on race day with a valid bib number. This event is open to runners of all ages, but children under 12 years old must be accompanied by an adult.
