Experience Vancouver’s Signature Running Event
Each spring, Vancouver welcomes runners from around the world for its premier marathon celebration. Held on the first Sunday of May, the event offers a breathtaking journey through the city’s most iconic landscapes — lush parks, oceanfront pathways, and the world-famous Seawall, the longest uninterrupted waterfront path on the planet.
With distances ranging from the full Marathon and Half Marathon to an 8KM run and a Kids Run, the event draws more than 25,000 participants and consistently reaches full capacity. Organized by the non-profit RUNVAN® team, the race maintains limited entry numbers in partnership with the City of Vancouver to preserve a smooth and safe race experience. Registration fills quickly, and once spots are gone, no waitlist is available.
Runners who secure a place can take advantage of deferral options for the following year if needed, while those not racing are encouraged to enjoy the atmosphere as spectators, volunteers, or cheer squads along the course. Stay connected with event updates by subscribing to the newsletter or following @bmovanmarathon #bmovm #runvan on social channels.
Next event: Sunday, May 3, 2026. Lace up and be part of Vancouver’s running tradition.
