The Bogus 50/50 Trail Race offers runners an unforgettable journey through Boise's stunning foothills, featuring three distinct distances: the grueling 50-mile course, the challenging yet accessible 50K race, and a scenic 27K option. Each route starts and finishes at Fort Boise parking lot in the lower Foothills, weaving through some of Idaho’s most picturesque trails. The flagship event, the 50 Mile "Reign of Pain," challenges participants with an elevation gain of approximately 7,680 feet as they navigate from the foothills up to Sweet Connie/Eastside and back via Shingle Creek. This course includes two hard cutoffs: one at Bogus Road Aid Station around mile 24 by 1PM, and another near mile 43.75 at the 8th Street/Motorcycle Parking Aid Station by 5PM. The first male and female runners to reach the aid station on Bogus Road will earn a $100 prize. For those seeking a more manageable challenge, the 50K course showcases over half of the full 50 Mile route's beauty with an elevation gain of approximately 4688 feet. It features one cutoff at mile 22 by 2PM and offers runners breathtaking views along Boise’s renowned trails. The 27K option is ideal for those looking to enjoy a shorter, yet still scenic out-and-back course that allows spectators easy access to cheer on their friends or family members participating in the longer races. This route has an elevation gain of approximately 2354 feet and provides runners with stunning vistas as they traverse through some of Boise’s most beloved trails. All courses feature moderate terrain difficulty, making them both challenging for experienced ultrarunners while remaining accessible to first-time trail racers. The race is committed to sustainability by encouraging participants to bring their own collapsible cups for aid stations throughout the course. Registration opens on September 14th and guarantees runners a special race schwag package. Packet pickup will be available at Idaho Running Company in Boise from Thursday, September 24th through Friday, September 25th during specified hours or one hour before your event start time. Same-day registration is also an option. Visit for detailed race information and to secure your spot in this thrilling trail running adventure!
