Bold Coast Bash

The Bold Coast Runners Race invites you to explore one of Maine's most breathtaking and challenging trails. Set against the stunning backdrop of Cutler Coastal Park’s dramatic cliffs and rugged inland terrain, this race is not for the faint-hearted but promises an unforgettable experience.
Registration opens on August 1, 2026, at 7:00 AM, with a cap set to ensure minimal disruption to local ecosystems. Entry fees start at $45 per participant, with no day-of registration available—only bib pick-up is provided post-registration. If spots fill up quickly for the popular 16k race (approximately 10 miles), wait-list options will be automatically generated.
The course itself is a grueling figure-eight pattern that covers approximately 16.7 kilometers per lap, with runners completing two full laps in under six and a half hours to meet the time cut-off requirements. The terrain varies from slippery rock faces along cliff edges to muddy inland sections filled with obstacles like bog bridges, making it essential for participants to be fully prepared.
Mandatory equipment includes items such as windproof jackets, warm head coverings, gloves, whistles, and at least 200 calories of instant energy food. Runners must also carry a headlamp starting from the second lap onwards due to potential darkness in dense forest areas. The race organizers will conduct checks for these mandatory items before each lap begins.
Despite its challenging nature, runners can look forward to receiving unique swag upon completion and enjoying live tracking through Webscorer’s app. Local accommodation options are available within a 30-45 minute drive from the Cutler Coast parking lot, ranging from motels in nearby towns like Lubec or Whiting to more rustic camping spots at Cocoa Mountain.
