As an Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race qualifying event, this race offers both competitive athletes and casual participants a chance to enjoy a scenic course that winds through North Fork of Peachtree Creek. The route takes runners on an off-road journey using the Peachtree Creek Greenway model mile and adjoining parking lots, ensuring safety while immersing you in nature. This family-friendly event welcomes all ages and abilities, from strollers and elders to competitive racers seeking a professionally timed USATF certified 5k experience. Proceeds from registration fees and donations will go directly to We Love Buford Highway, a charitable nonprofit dedicated to preserving the multicultural heritage of this unique area. The race is held during International Festival weekend, offering an exciting atmosphere with live music, food stalls, and cultural performances along the route. Brookhaven, formerly North Atlanta, is a city in the northeastern suburbs of Atlanta that is located in western DeKalb County, Georgia, United States, directly northeast of Atlanta. On July 31, 2012, Brookhaven was approved in a referendum to become DeKalb County's 11th city. Incorporation officially took place on December 17, 2012, on which date municipal operations commenced. The new city stretches over 12 square miles (31 km2). With a population of 56,795 as of the 2020 census, it is the second largest city located fully within DeKalb County, behind Stonecrest.
