Run For Sky, set to take place on Sunday, October 11th, 2026 at 9am, offers runners an exhilarating journey through Buckingham's picturesque landscapes. The race begins in the heart of the town centre and ventures into the serene countryside, winding its way along Stowe Avenue before entering the enchanting grounds of Stowe National Trust Gardens. The course features a mix of footpaths and rural terrain, providing both challenge and beauty for participants. With an undulating profile, runners can expect varied elevation changes throughout their 10km journey. The route offers glimpses of farmland and natural beauty that make every step worthwhile. While the event is open to all ages above eleven years old, it regrettably does not accommodate wheelchair users due to its challenging terrain. However, this doesn't detract from the overall experience for those who can take part. Water stations are strategically placed at 3K and 7K to keep runners hydrated as they tackle the course. Runners will enjoy a traffic-free environment once they leave town, allowing them to focus solely on their performance amidst the tranquil surroundings. Distance markers every kilometer help track progress along the scenic route. Upon crossing the finish line, all participants receive commemorative medals. In addition, trophies are awarded to the top three overall winners and age category champions for added recognition of effort and achievement. For race-day convenience, parking is available at Cornwall's Meadow car park (MK18 1RP), just a short walk from the town center and race headquarters. The cost is £1.70 by card payment. Entry to Run For Sky can be secured online or on-site if spaces remain; however, prices will increase to £30 for late entrants. Affiliated runners pay £23 while unaffiliated participants are charged £25. Please note that no refunds are provided due to the charitable nature of this event. All proceeds from Run For Sky benefit local charities such as Buckingham Food Bank and Brackley Road Action Group, ensuring your participation makes a positive impact in the community. This race is more than just a run; it's an opportunity to connect with nature while supporting important causes. Join us for a memorable day of running through Buckingham’s charming landscapes!
